2017 Empties

It’s always somewhat strange when so many products run out at the same time…. But it is great so that I can do a bunch of reviews at once hahaha! Here are reviews on all of the beauty products that I’ve finished so far in 2017.

First Aid Beauty Anti-Redness Serum
I remember when I was in school for esthetics, people would always describe my skin as “naturally rosen,” as my skin is always looking a t bit flushed….. But let’s be real, that was just a polite way to say my skin is just hella red 24/7. I’ve been disappointed in the past by First Aid Beauty, but this serum was incredible! The texture of this serum is also very different, looks and feels like a light cream. It really did calm the skin immediately, reduce the redness over time, and gave me great results.

Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer
This is the third bottle I’ve purchased, and I will most certainly be buying more (after I finish project ten pan, of course)! The gel formula is actually quite pleasant to apply to damp skin, it doesn’t feel too slimy or sticky. Once it fully absorbs, my skin feels super smooth and smells fresh.

BH Cosmetics Studio Pro Makeup Brush Cleaner
Having a go-to brush cleaner is so essential and this one did not make the cut for me, unfortunately. The bristles took a while to dry after being cleaned, and it didn’t do a great job of cleaning brushes that were used to apply cream products. The Cinema Secrets Brush Cleaner is still my #1 choice!

Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder
You all know I am OBSESSED with the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder, but sadly the obsession did not carry over. It gave major flashback in photos and I think it made my under eye area a bit dry after a few uses….. Ain’t nobody got time for that!

Loreal Lumi Cushion Foundation
I really loved the formula itself; it had a beautiful finish, didn’t cling to dry patches, and lasted all day. In regards to the packaging or actual “cushion,” it looks super cute and seems cool in theory…But I much prefer a bottle with a pump, and I think it’s much more sanitary and easier to get the product out, so the cushion was somewhat pointless for me personally.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer
If you brows are rather sparse, that this would be a great option! Because my brows are pretty full for the most part, I prefer the precision that the BrowWiz offers with the smaller tip. I also found this formula to be a tad waxy/clumpy in the brow hairs, so this overall this product just isn’t well suited for me.

Rimmel ScandalEyes Lycra Flex Mascara
Rimmel isn’t a brand I’m super familiar with, so I figured trying mascara would be a good place to start. This formula did make my lashes nice and fluttery, not too stiff or clumpy. After about two weeks of using it, I began to get major mascara flakes and raccoon eyes halfway through the day. Other than the formula not staying fresh for too long, it gave great length and volume even with just one coat.

Rimmel Extra 3D Lash Mascara
I used this one in combination with the one above, but I utilized the smaller brush to get my inner corner/lower lashes. When I used it alone, I found it didn’t give me the volume and length that the ScandalEyes did.
