Working from home used to give me so much anxiety and I had such a hard time being productive. Though I do have an office now, I still work from home occasionally and wanted to share my tips!
I think we can all agree it’s hard to be motivated to work when I’m still in sweatpants. Get dressed and do your makeup just as if you were going into the office.
My biggest problem when working from home was that I would literally work 24/7. When I started having “office hours” I felt SO much less stressed. Remember that once office hours are over, there is absolutely no need to check your email or reply to work calls/texts, it can wait until tomorrow.
Having a designated desk or certain spot that is your space to work is so important. Please, please, do not ever work from your bed. Your bed is a place for rest and sleep, not work! It’s just confusing AF for your brain. If you’re extra like me and want to make your work area hella cute, peep this for all of my office/desk inspo!
Planning and creating structure is essential, time blocking is my favorite method and I talk about that more in this post!
I know it’s tempting to text and scroll through Instagram all day when there is no boss around to police your phone usage… But come on girl, you know it’s no good! Even when I’m at the office, I switch on do not disturb mode.
Take a walk, sit on your patio, go grab a coffee… Just get outside! It’s just not good for your body and brain to be inside all damn day. It’s also nice to work outside of your home once a week for a full day or even just for a few hours. This is my favorite coffee shop to work at in Vancouver!
If you have roommates, setting boundaries is so key! You have to advocate for yourself and make sure your space is being respected during office hours.
I hope this helps all my babes who hustle from home! If you want more, I also have a whole other post about how to stay productive and focused AF where I share what I do every morning to get in the work zone.
