This year, I’m striving to have clear skin, healthy hair, and hopefully loads of good makeup days. My beauty resolutions are going to help make 2018 the most glamorous year yet.
My skin is well aware that I’ve been slacking in the brush cleaning department. Sanitation is the first priority, but using fresh brushes also ensures the best application possible.
It’s embarrassing but true, my vanity typically looks like it’s been hit by a tornado. Getting into the habit of doing a quick tidy immediately post-glam will keep the clutter minimal.
Most cosmetics stay fresh anywhere from 6 to 24 months. After that, they just harbour bacteria and active ingredients are no longer effective! Making sure I clean out my beauty stash more often will help me stay organized and keep my skin healthy.
When I see a product with an insane amount of ingredients I can’t even pronounce, it kinda freaks me out. Going back to the basics is always a good thing, so my goal is to make one product using fresh ingredients each month. My hair has been super dry lately, so tonight I’m going to whip up my go-to scalp and hair treatment to show my locks some love.
Setting aside time to have a long soak in a candle-lit bubble bath is 100% necessary. Of course, with a face mask, chill playlist, and a glass of vino. I’ve scheduled my self-care time in my planner, so I have no excuse to skip out.
Speaking of scheduling, I have vowed to book all of my haircuts in advance for this year. It always seems that a few months fly by, then I see my split ends and remember I should have gotten a trim weeks ago! Getting my hair trimmed every 6 weeks is what works the best for me. I find that this keeps my hair the healthiest and helps it grow super fast. Mermaid hair, here I come!
