During a recent trip to Ulta, I spotted the Carli Bybel Deluxe Edition Palette and could not resist. All of the shades just looked so beautiful, plus the marble and rose gold packaging just had me feeling some type of way! This palette was done in collaboration with BH Cosmetics comes with 15 eyeshadows and 6 highlighters.
BH Cosmetics is known for being ultra affordable and this palette retails for $22.50, which is a really great price for how many shades you get. Both the shadows and highlighters are very buttery, pigmented, and the shimmery shades are beyond gorgeous. I’ve been using this palette a ton and I really love using the highlighters on my eyes for a super glowy look.
When it comes to applying the shadows and highlighters, I find that it works a lot better when I use my fingers. There is SO much kick-up from the shadows when I go into the pan using a brush. Unfortunately, this leads to a ton of fallout. I also find that the shimmery shades don’t really have a lot of colour payoff when they’re applied to the skin with a brush. Using something like Fix+ or another facial mist to make the brush damp does help quite a bit!
Vancouver Makeup Artist Lauren Gudz made glammed me up using the Carli Bybel Deluxe Edition Palette! She used mostly shadows from the second row and added highlighter on the lips for a metallic look.
Carli and BH Cosmetics did an amazing job creating a palette that is versatile, affordable, and great for a wide range of complexions. My only issues are the kick-up and fallout. Applying products with my fingers is something I do a lot of the time anyways, but if you aren’t into using your hands to apply makeup this might not be the palette for you. Perhaps there is a brush out there that does make these shadows go on like a dream, but I just haven’t found it yet!
