It's hard for me to say whether I love chemical exfoliation or physical exfoliation more, but they definitly have their pros and cons!
Chemical exfoliation is great for people like myself who are prone to redness, sometimes the scrubbing from a physical exfoliant can irritate the skin and cause redness.
One thing you must be careful with when it comes to chemical exfoliants is how long you leave it on for. On one hand, leaving a product on for longer than recommended typically won’t give you better results. After a certain time, the active ingredients stop working, so there isn’t really any point. On the other hand, sometimes the active ingredients in a product to continue to work! When you leave a product on for longer than recommended you can actually burn and damage your skin, leaving it red, raw, and irritated. So babes, always follow the instructions and read the label!!!
Kerstin Florian Correcting Peel Pads – These pads are supercharged with several different types of acids that leave the skin looking bright and feeling smooth. These are pretty strong, so make sure to remove the product after the amount of time noted on the packaging.
Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Gel Mask– This mask has a cooling sensation that feels really nice, it just leaves the skin feeling firm, tight, and ultra-smooth. It’s definitely one of my favorite high-end skincare products.
Pixi Glow Tonic – I like this exfoliating toner because it’s great for all skin types! It tightens pores, absorbs excess oil and leaves the skin glowy AF. It’s also on the more affordable side of things, which obvi we love!
Coco Ensolielle Pumpkin Latte Mask – You guys know how much I love this brand! Pumpkin enzymes do a good job of exfoliating (more on pumpkin here) and make the skin look super glowy. It also smells AMAZING!
