Tarte Clay Play Face Shaping Palette | Review & Swatches

It’s interesting that yesterday I published a post all about adding pops of colour and stepping outside the box of neutrals. Now here I am, ready to review another neutral palette, hahaha! Today I’m going to be reviewing one of the items I picked up in my latest Tarte Haul, this is the Tarte Clay Play Face Shaping Palette.

EYESHADOWS

The Tarte Clay Play Face Shaping Palette comes with 12 matte eyeshadows and 3 matte bronzers. These are super pigmented and smooth, I love that there is a great balance of warm and cool tones. Though these are all matte shadows, they never look flat or powdery. It almost looks like “Instinct” has a little bit of shimmer to me, but I think it may just be that the finish isn’t as matte as the rest. “Onyx” is a great black and the colour payoff is super intense. In a pinch, “Dunes” would totally work as a brow powder!

BRONZERS

This time of the year I am SO insanely pale and I need all the help I can get! I like using “Terracotta” to add some warmth to my skin, it blends really well and looks quite natural which is exactly what I want for the winter. Then, to sculpt my face I like to use “Desert.” “Timber” is too dark for my complexion, but it looks great on my eyes when I want to do something brown and smokey. What I love the most about these bronzers is the creamy texture. These powders aren’t chalky and swipe on nice and smooth, they set right in a last all day long. Love!

This is a great neutral palette and this 2-in-1 is going to be perfect for travelling. Christmas is just around the corner and I think this would be a fab gift for someone who is just getting into makeup. The colours aren’t intimidating, and they blend so easily! But I mean, the Clay Play Face Shaping Palette make a great gift for beauty junkies as well! You can never have too many neutral palettes 😉. You can find this palette on Tarte.com, at Ulta, or Sephora.

Do you have a go-to neutral palette at the moment? Let me know in the comments below 🙂
