DIY Hair Masks

I’ve been talking about hair an awful lot lately, and as promised here are two of my favorite DIY hair masks you can make at home! If DIY beauty isn’t your thing, you can check out my other posts on my favorite products here.SOOTHING SCALP MASK

This mask is great for removing residue/product buildup and giving the scalp a deep cleanse. If you have psoriasis on your scalp like me, you will find this one super soothing.

To make this mask, you will need the following:
Baking Soda – 1/2 cup
Apple Cider Vinegar – 1/4 cup
Olive Oil – 1 tsp
Tea Tree Oil – 4-5 drops

Measure and mix ingredients in a large bowl. Make sure you use a large enough bowl so the vinegar and baking soda don’t overflow when they react upon mixing. Work the mask onto your scalp, leave in for 15 minutes and rinse!

Baking Soda:
Gives a deep cleanse and removes product build up.
Apple Cider Vinegar:
Makes the hair super shiny!
Olive Oil:
Because this is a deep cleansing mask, this gives the scalp a little bit of moisture and won’t leave your skin feeling dry.
Tea Tree:
Anti-bacterial and healing properties, which can help soothe inflammation on the scalp. This also makes the mask smell a little bit more pleasant.

If you’re looking to give your hair some good moisture and get your locks to grow a bit quicker, this is a great one. You can also check out my post here where I talk about all the things that can help your hair grow super fast.To make this mask, you will need the following:

1/2 Avocado
1 Egg
2 tsp Olive Oil
10 drops Lavender Oil
Mash avocado in a small bowl until smooth, then add remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly. Work through hair from root to tip, leave on for at least 30 minutes and rinse out.
