All you have to do is look outside and it's pretty clear that the air quality in Vancouver is awful at the moment. Obvi it's not the most ideal air to be breathing... but the free radicals created by the smoke and pollution are also really effing bad for your skin.
Free radicals are these nasty little molecules that speed up the aging process. They damage the skins DNA by stealing atoms from our skins molecules. Free radical damage causes wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and lack of elasticity. Now, the major key to fighting free radical damage is antioxidants! Antioxidants come through with an extra atom for the free radical to grab, so doesn’t need to steal from our skin.
Green tea is loaded the eff up with antioxidants and I’ve been obsessed with this toner lately. The packagings aesthetic is gorgeous and it smells so very spa-esque, which we love. I just noticed my favorite makeup setting spray also has green tea, so I’m really just having a GT moment… A full head to toe moment you guys. This detox body wash was actually in my recent beauty faves video and this in-shower moisturizer is my ride or freaking die. Why? Because it’s the ultimate lazy girl solution, and I am very much about that life.
But you know what else creates free radicals? UV RAYS. You know I’m a complete psycho about sun protection, so I’ve been spraying myself down with this magical mimosa SPF all day, every day.
The air has my skin feeling so grimy and greasy 24/7 which is not ideal, so I’ve been masking a lot with this clay mask from Bombay Beauty Co. It is sooooo good for drawing out impurities. I love that it comes in a powder form, so you can use green tea as a mixer for an extra boost of antioxidants.
