Ingredient Focus: Pumpkin

Pumpkin is a fall favorite that is amazing in lattes and my personal favorite, Thanksgiving pies. But it is also amazing in skincare! I've been using a pumpkin mask once a week for the past couple of months and I love what it's done to my skin.

SKIN-LOVING PUMPKIN PROPERTIES

ENZYMES

Pumpkin enzymes exfoliate and get rid of dead cells, leaving your complexion smooth and glowing. That being said, these enzymes are gentle and great for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

ALPHA HYDROXY ACID aka AHA

Pumpkin is made up of AHA’s which dissolve the “glue” (aka ceramides) that hold skin cells together. So AHAs do a wonderful job of sloughing off dead skin as well as unclogging pores.

VITAMINS & MINERALS

Pumpkin Spice Latte face mask Coco Ensolielle

You guys know I am obsessed with vitamin C and vitamin A, which pumpkin is full of! These vitamins fight sun damage and free radicals. They help with hyperpigmentation, reduce inflammation and increase collagen production, which obvi we love! Zinc is also found in pumpkin, which is fab for those who are prone to acne because it’s so healing.

MY FAVORITE PUMPKIN SKINCARE PRODUCT

The mask I am currently using is the Pumpkin Spice Latte Mask from Coco Ensoleille. It smells SO good and just peep this mini video on my Instagram and you’ll see how it just instantly makes the skin glow. It’s made a big difference in the texture of my skin and has helped fade the acne scars on my chin.

Because it is pretty intense (it’s also got nutmeg and cinnamon), I only use it once a week. It feels so very tingly and you can totally tell it is putting in MAJOR work. I would highly recommend this for all skin types, but this wouldn’t be my first pick for sensitive skin gals because it is so intense! But not to worry, I’ve included some of my other pumpkin skincare favorites below. If you are sensitive, the Too Cool For School Mask would be a great choice.
