I am so very here for Milk Makeup’s minimalist, cool girl aesthetic, bomb af right? But looks aside, I had no idea Milk also makes skincare and not just makeup! I’ve been using their charcoal cleanser for about a month now and I would definitely recommend it for those who have combination or oily skin like myself.
Charcoal – Obvi the star the the show! It absorbs excess oil and draws out impurities/toxins that can cause breakouts.
Marine Water – Sea water is filled with so many minerals that soothe and heal the skin, including Magnesium, which helps to retain moisture so the skin stays hydrated and plump.
Vitamin E – This antioxidant rich ingredient fights free radicals and provides major nourishment.
I love that this cleanser doesn’t contain any sulfates, which are just too aggressive and strip the skin of it’s natural oils we want to keep around! It does contain artificial fragrance, but it’s the last ingredient on the list so there is obviously a very minimal amount which is totally fine by me.
My skin has been looking oh-so-clear lately, aside from hormonal chin zits during that time of the month, LOL! My skin can turn into a bit of a greasy mess in the summer months, but I feel like this cleanser has really helped keep the oil production in check. TYSM, charcoal! The only thing I don’t love about this cleanser is that it’s not great for removing makeup. So that being said, I just use this in the morning to cleanse and then I use my Reversa Acnex cleanser at night to take off my makeup from the day.
So yes, the packaging is bomb AF, but it’s what’s on the inside that counts, right? Milk Makeup doesn’t formulate any of their products with sulfates, formaldehyde, mineral oil, or talc which is fab because those are all ingredients I try to avoid anyways! Their entire line is also vegan and cruelty free. Overall, I’m a big fan and definitely want to try more Milk skincare!
If you’re really feeling the charcoal skincare, I also love the Tarte Frxxxtion Stick! It’s basically a 3-in-1 situation the cleanses, exfoliates, and can be used as a mask. I give an in-depth review and ingredient break down in this post! If blackheads are a concern, then definitely try the My Organic Zone charcoal peel off mask.
What do you guys think about the charcoal trend? If you guys have tried any other Milk products, let me know in the comments below so I can decide what to get next!
