This Mackage moto jacket I have on is one of my favorite pieces in my closet. This is actually jacket #2...
There once was a time where UBC Sigma Chi parties were my activity of choice on a Saturday night. Those parties truly have that “blackout or back out” sort of vibe, so I’m honestly not surprised that this was the time and place I lost my moto jacket. I woke up the next morning after a night at the frats (saying that literally makes me want to vom LOL) in an Abu Dhabi University sweatshirt and NOT my leather jacket. I’ve never even been to Abu Dhabi and I don’t actually know anybody who has attended that school… I realized that my beloved Mackage was long gone and likely not going to find it’s way back to me. RIP.
What I’m wearing: Mackage moto jacket (similar) // Forever 21 lace trim tank (similar from Boohoo) // Topshop Jamie moto jeans // Barney’s block heels (similar from Aldo, block heel guide under $100) // clutch (similar, full trend guide)
I later found out from my friends that we had decided to venture to McDonald’s for food at about 3 AM. I mean obvi, that’s a post-party must. The rather unforgiving Canadian winter weather meant that the leather was not going to cut it and I apparently asked someone for a sweatshirt. Clearly, McNuggets were the priority and I voluntarily left my leather jacket in the dust. RIP. FML.
I ended up purchasing the exact same Mackage jacket pretty much immediately after that catastrophe because I seriously cannot live without it. It goes with everything and can make even the most basic of outfits look sexy and edgy AF! In the colder months, I just layer a black velour hoodie (Juicy Tracksuits 5EVER obvi) underneath to avoid any sort of university sweatshirt situations ;).
A good moto jacket is truly an investment and is something that I consider a wardrobe essential. It’s just a classic that goes with so many outfits and will never go out of style. They no longer make the one I have from Mackage, but this one from Aritzia is pretty similar and I’ve got a few more down below that are super cute!
Oh, and just some advice to my younger frat-party-going readers… Leave your expensive leather jacket at home and wear something from Forever21 ;).
