Brunch is my favorite meal for a number of reasons, but mostly due to the fact that it yields an opportunity to drink champagne in the middle of the day. My family decided to get together for brunch at one of our go-to spots, West! West has held the title of being my favorite restaurant in Vancouver for quite some time now.

West is definitely boujee, but in the best way possible. The interior is luxe and chic, but it still feels super cozy and laid-back. Did you notice the silver sculpture situation on the ceiling? Cool right? The bar is gorgeous too, you must peep the cocktail list… I’ll take one of each TYSM! Great restaurant staff are obvi a major key to a good experience and I can honestly say I’ve never had anything except perfect service at West.

Myself and a few members of my family are allergic to both gluten and dairy, which can be a bit of a struggle when dining out. But of course, West is SO accommodating! All of the servers are knowledgeable and always provide alternative options or modify menu items so we can enjoy them allergen free. West’s menu is filled with dishes that have locally sourced ingredients that are always prepared in a unique way. My faves? The yarrow meadows duck breast, beef tartare, and organic greens.

I decided to have the smoked salmon eggs benny on potatoes instead of an english muffin to keep it GF. And duh, of course I had a mimosa! Pictured is the grapefruit edition, but you better believe I had the classic OJ version too ;). Also, West Fries. They’re stacked up in a Jenga-like formation and come with truffle aioli that put all other dipping sauces to shame. The obsession is SO real, you just need to try them for yourself!
