Tips for Buying Swimwear When You Have a Bigger Chest

After I showed my Zaful swimwear haul on Instagram (I totally regret ordering from them, more on that later though), I got a lot of DM’s asking me about buying swimwear if you have a bigger chest. All my ladies with big boobs know, that the struggle is real AF. So babes, these are some of the tips and advice I have for when it comes to buying swimwear online when you have bigger boobs. Of course, I’ve also linked some of my favorite brands and bikinis I love!

MIX AND MATCH

I think there has maybe been 3 times in my entire 21 years on this earth where a bikini top and bottom set has fit both parts of my body properly. Or, sometimes I love the cut of the bottoms but feel “meh” about the top. Buying separates is totally the way to go. It doesn’t even have to be the coordinating separate or the same brand.

PEEP THE REVIEWS & SIZE GUIDES

S/O to all the girls tell me their height/weight/size and help me decide if a bikini is actually going to fit. Literally my shopping soul sisters. Nordstrom.com always has TONS of reviews and have a size guide specific to each brand. I also love when a retailer notes the models height, measurements, and the size she is wearing in the photo, then I can sort of have an idea of how it fits. Tobi.com always notes the mo and it is SO helpful!

LURK THE BRANDS TAGGED INSTAGRAM PHOTOS

So often I just feel like the website photo just can’t be trusted. So I loveeeeee to do a good lurk through the pictures a brand has been tagged in, so I can see what the bathing-suits look like on normal humans like myself and not just the model on the website.

THE MOVEMENT TEST

Okay, this one is kind of weird… I know. But if I do order something, I like to make sure that I can move around in it before I decided to tear the tags off and commit for good. I’ll jump around and dance like an absolute psycho to see if “the ladies” stay in place. Personally, I want a bathing suit I can frolic around in on the beach and go swimming without the constant anxiety of a potential nip-slip.

FAVORITE FITS

Triangle Top – Having the adjustable straps around the neck and bust are a major key. Plus, you can totally control how much you want to show. Sometimes I love some good underboob/sideboob action, where as other times I’d rather keep it more low-key. This sparkly top from ASOS is to die for!

Smocked Bandeau – Okay, the key term here to remember is SMOCKED. It’s a type of embroidery that is super stretchy but will still keep your boobs in the top nice and tight. But look for something that’s longer lengthwise (this top is pefect and affordable AF), or else the amount of underboob can get a bit extreme.

High Neck – Great for support and coverage. Plus you can opt for something that has some cut-outs or mesh (cute floral/mesh situation here) to show some cleav-cleav ;)!

One Piece – I have always been a one piece kind of gal, I just think they provide the best support and I never have to worry about my boobs falling out. My personal fave is a “monokini” because I love how it shows off my waist but still gives me coverage. Beach Bunny always has one pieces that are super sexy.

I do really want to get a few pieces from Devin Brugman and Tasha Oakley’s line, Monday Swimwear. Today on Instagram, Devin mentioned that the Portofino one piece is the ultimate fit for girls with a larger chest.

ASOS has a “Fuller Bust” line which has SO many cute bikinis and one pieces, plus the pricepoint is fab.
