Top 5 Hair Growth Hacks

As I mentioned in my last post, getting my hair healthy and happy has been a bit of a struggle! I’ve tried so different supplements, products, and treatments to get my hair to grow…So I’ve rounded up my favorites here that have really worked to grow my hair long and strong!1) Quality Products
Though this might seem obvious, finding good quality products to take care of your hair makes a huge difference! I love the shampoo and conditioner I currently have, when I let my hair air dry it gives me nice soft waves with no frizz. This means I blow dry and heat style a lot less, which makes my hair very happy! My favourite hair products are in a post here.

2) Cotton T-Shirts
I’m sure you’ve seen tons of special hair towels that promise to be gentle and dry the hair quickly….. But the best thing I’ve come across for drying hair fresh our of the shower is just a simple cotton t-shirt! The cotton is much softer than a typical bath towel and is super absorbent. I buy them in the largest size possible on Amazon, and they work like magic.

3) Hair Supplements
I had seen and heard a lot of positive things about Hairfinity, so I gave it a go! After 6 months, I really didn’t notice any difference in the length or overall health of my hair. I then proceeded to try pretty much every hair vitamin they sell at Whole Foods…. Sadly none of them made a great enough difference for me to repurchase. But then, there was Viviscal….. I have never seen my hair grow as much as it has in the last 6 months!!! Not only the hair on my scalp, but also on my body! I have had to wax/trim my eyebrows a lot more frequently, because the Viviscal makes them grow in so quickly. But I’m not complaining, by all means, make my brows thicker and patch up my sparse arches!

4) Coconut Oil
This is one you hear tons about, but I do a coconut oil mask once a week and it really works wonders. I apply it to dry hair, leave it for thirty minutes, and then head to the shower! The trick is to use conditioner first before getting under the water, rinse the hair, then shampoo. Doing so in this order helps to remove the oil much better.

5) Gentle Brushes
These two brushes have really helped my hair regarding split ends and breakage.

Tangle Teezer – I use this in the shower to comb through my hair with conditioner, it never gets stuck on knots and is super gentle.
Wet Brush – As hair is more prone to damage when it’s wet, this helps to detangle those locks super gently.

Hopefully this post gave you a few ideas on how to keep your hair healthy! Let me know in the comments below if you have any hair tips and tricks.
