My fellow influencer friend Nicole Thompson and I attended a few runway shows at Vancouver Fashion Week last night. Yes, Vancouver does in fact have fashion week. Though the city is typically filled with people roaming the streets wearing yoga pants and rain gear prioritizing practicality over style, there is a fashion scene that exists! Let’s be honest, it really just can’t be compared to what goes on in New York or Paris. But, it’s so very Vancouver and I love that.We really had no idea what the event was going to be like, to be honest…But we had a lot of fun and really enjoyed ourselves! The #VFW letters in the front of the venue are pretty cute, don’t you think?! When we arrived it was pretty packed, but the coordinators hooked us up with some pretty great seats so we could snap a few shots for our social channels.
The shows we saw featured collections by designers from all around the globe and not just Vancouver, unlike traditional fashion weeks. My personal favorite collection was designed by Klaudia Markiewicz. Her garments featured lots of sequins, sheer fabrics, and all things holographic.
The event was laid-back, but still very well coordinated and organized. If you’re looking for a fun night out this week, definitely check out VFW! I’m always looking for an excuse to dress up, get glam, and sip on some vino… This was perfect!
Micro Macro Magazine, which is a online publication that just launched and was a big part of Vancouver Fashion Week. I’ve been lurking their site and reading their articles all day, so make sure to go show them some love too. You guys know I love supporting my local peeps!
