Why You Need Vitamin C in Your Skincare Routine

A couple of months ago, I added a vitamin C serum into my skincare routine and it's changed my skin in the best way possible. Here are 4 reasons why I'm so very obsessed with this ingredient.

Vitamin C is full of antioxidants, which we love. Last week I talked about how antioxidants neutralize free radicals, which is a major key to avoiding premature aging.

Collagen production slows down as we age, so adding in some vitamin C will help keep the skin firm, moisturized and radiant. The more collagen, the better.

This is why vitamin C is so good for treating hyperpigmentation (aka dark or sun spots)! I don’t really struggle with sun spots, but I’ve seen a huge difference with the acne scars on my chin/jawline.

I’ve noticed my breakouts aren’t as aggressive and they heal so much quicker than before. TYSM vitamin C!

So basically, it’s going to elevate your skin game on all sides, ya feel? I noticed my complexion was brighter right away after using the My Organic Zone vitamin C serum, but it’s been the last couple weeks I’ve seen significant changes. My acne marks have faded, the texture of my skin is a lot smoother, I’m having fewer breakouts and my complexion has a next level glow.

One thing I do remember from my time in school for esthetics was that Vitamin C is a very unstable molecule. I feel so fancy talking about things on a molecular level. LOL. But essentially that means that Vitamin C can end up going bad quite easily. So keep your products in a cool and dark place so they won’t oxidize! Like any beauty product, if you notice a change in color, smell, or texture, that’s an indicator it’s time to toss it.
