David Yurman & Arts Umbrella Event Recap | What We Wore

Last week, Lauren Gudz and I attended an exclusive David Yurman shopping event at Holt Renfrew, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Arts Umbrella. Arts Umbrella is a non-profit organization that has arts education programs for children ages 2-19. They offer programs free of charge for families who may not be able to afford art classes. Between the chit-chat and champagne sips, we walked around and lusted over all the jewels in the new David Yurman Fall collection. Naturally, most of my favorite pieces were either rose gold or covered in diamonds. Of course, most of them are just a liiiiiiiittle bit out of my budget. But a girl can dream, right ;)? The Chatelaine collection has some really beautiful pieces, I love how the morganite looks against the rose gold.

I decided to wear this snakeskin print blouse (which is currently 50% off) and leather skirt, both are from Aritzia. My Chanel wallet is my go-to bag for a night out, it can be worn as a clutch or with the strap as a crossbody. Perfect for when you’ve got a glass of champagne in one hand and want the other hand free when mingling… Or perhaps you just want to have a glass of champs in each hand ;)! The studded cages on these Valentino kitten heels make them look edgy and sexy, so you can still look fab and be comfortable. On my wrist you’ll find one of the oh-so-popular David Yurman cable bracelets, it is such a classic piece and just goes with everything!

Clearly, it was an “all black Aritzia everything” type of evening because Lauren (we both have the same name, confusing I know) was also in an Aritzia ensemble. Her LBD is TNA and the duster coat is Wilfred, both of those brands are two of the many private labels Aritzia has. Both of us are beyond obsessed with duster coats at the moment, they look so classy and the length will help to stay warm. Another obsession? NUDES! Her nude clutch (similar) and heels are both from Aldo. I just love how the red lip really pops against these neutrals, so gorg right? Strangely enough, we both happened to be wearing NARS lipstick… not the exact same shade, but pretty darn close.

We had so much fun at this event and loved that it was for such a great cause. As someone who spent several years in a dance studio, taking music lessons and art classes, I cannot imagine my life without art. The work that Arts Umbrella does is so incredible, I get warm fuzzies just thinking about all of the kids who will have the opportunity to be a part of the arts because of this organization. If any of you are in Vancouver and want to find out how you can support or volunteer for Arts Umbrella, you can go here to find all the deets!
