Whistler is one of my favourite places to go when I need to get out of the city. Being that it’s only a couple hours from Vancouver, this is the perfect destination for a weekend away or even just a day trip.
The skiing and snowboarding in Whis is absolutely to die for, plus there are two mountains to choose from (Blackcomb or Whistler). Snowshoeing, bungee jumping, dog sledding, and snowmobiling are just a few of the other adventurous possibilities (full list of activities here). Gosh I hate to say this, but snow gear can be so ugly and often expensive AF. Sorry not sorry, it’s true. Topshop just launched a skiwear line and I am LIVING for it!
Perusing through art galleries and doing a bit of shopping (Lululemon, Aritzia, TNA) certainly makes for a fun day in Whistler village. When I want to unwind (or skiing has made legs hella sore), I love visiting the Vida Spa inside the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. One of the things I love most about Vida is that they incorporate Ayurveda (ancient Indian healing system/methods) into their spa treatments. My top treatment pick would have to be Shirodhara! This treatment starts with an Ayurvedic massage, then once you’re lying face up, a steady stream of oil will flow over your third eye. Now I know that might sound a little strange, but it is so relaxing.
Araxi is a great place to dine if you want a romantic night out, the food is absolutely phenomenal. Seriously though, I dream about their beef tartare far too often. Rim Rock Cafe would be my other pick, it isn’t in the village but it’s just a short drive away and so worth it. Gluten and dairy are both no-no’s for me and both of these restaurants are always so accommodating to my food intolerances.

The go-to place for aprés ski with live music is the Garibaldi Lift Co. GLC is always packed, so make sure to go a little early to grab a table for you and your squad. For when you’re feeling boujee, The Mallard Lounge in at The Fairmont is an excellent pick for evening drinks and appies.
